Summary Article: The Human Propensity to The Savior

Summary Article: The Human Propensity to The Savior

Shaikh Nazeeh Mohiuddeen
Translated by: Haidar Mazen
This research sheds the light on a certain group of people that denies the belief in “Mahdism” (the idea of The Mahdi) and claims religiosity even though it believes in fantasies and non-scientific assumptions. The research will discuss the contradiction that this group has and prove that the belief in al-Mahdi is not only an Islamic doctrine، but rather it is a human propensity. Mahdism is not the result of the pressures of life and failure in achieving goals، but it is a natural human tendency. Therefore، the research argues that the idea of The Savior is a universal idea that was enshrined in all true religions across history. It is not a new idea that was born out of desperation; rather it is part of the divine scriptures and it exists in the popular and non-popular religions.
In Zoroastrianism and some Indian beliefs، for example، many texts indicated the presence of the idea of a savior، and that it existed. The research has some excerpts that prove this idea. As for the Chinese and the Confucian beliefs، they also believe in the idea of salvation and the inevitability of the existence of a savior in the long run.
Moreover، the research discusses in detail the idea of the global reformer in the Jewish religion. The research brings many passages from The Bible that clearly shows the idea of salvation and awaiting for a savior.
Ultimately، the research discusses Mahdism in Christianity and then concludes that all human religions tend to have this human propensity to The Savior.
