This research studies the evidences that prove the birth of Imam Al-Mahdi (P.B.U.H) and that he is the only rightful heir of Imam Al-Askary (P.B.U.H). As a matter of fact, the birth of the Twelfth Imam is a fundamental Islamic aspect.
This research studies the available historical and Islamic evidences concerning the birth of Imam Al-Mahdi, through a number of points, such as a perusal of the historical method and historical context of the time. The oppressing socio-historical context of that time resulted in concealing a huge Islamic heritage of narrations about Imam Al-Mahdi. It also studies the types of forgery that dominated historical methodologies and its direct effect on the events of the birth of Imam Al-Mahdi.
This study also covers the narrations about the birth of Imam Al-Mahdi, their narrators, and their validity.
